Kurt Kleinendorst named new coach of Binghamton Senators


Kurt Kleinendorst spent the last season as the head coach of the USA Hockey National Team Development Program’s under-18 team, where he won the gold at the IIHF U-18 World Hockey Championship in Belarus. He also has an awesome name!

Senators sign Corey Cowick to entry-level deal


The Ottawa Senators announced today that they've signed former Ottawa 67 Corey Cowick to an entry-level contract. Cowick had 15 goals in 27 games with the 67's this year, in a shortened season due to a separated shoulder. Cowick was a sixth-round pick by Ottawa in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft

Ottawa Senators re-sign Geoff Kinrade


The Ottawa Senators re-signed defenceman Geoff Kinrade to a one-year, two-way contract on Thursday. Kinrade played all of last season with Binghamton, scoring 27P (7G and 20A) in 76GP. With Kinrade, David Hale, Derek Smith, Patrick Wiercioch, Eric Gryba, and Craig Schira as their apparent top six, the B-Sens' defence looks pretty strong for next year.

Cowen missing World Junior camp due to mononucleosis


According to TSN, Ottawa Senators defensive prospect Jared Cowen will miss this summer's Team Canada World Junior camp because he's recovering from mononucleosis. Update: Cowen will be attending the camp, but won't be participating due to mono.

Peoria Head Coach Rick Wamsley Named Sens' Goaltending Coach


"He was hired by the Blues on July 7, 2006, as assistant/goaltending coach after spending the previous seven years as goaltending coach and professional scout with the Columbus Blue Jackets."

Elmira Jackals affiliate with Anaheim organization


Didn't see this happening, but the Elmira Jackals are now the ECHL affiliate for the Anaheim Ducks and Syracuse Crunch. Their two-year affiliation with the Ottawa and Binghamton Senators has expired, but apparently they're working to expand it--meaning that the Jackals could have two affiliates, and a stacked team.

Binghamton training camp to start Sept. 29


Binghamton will be joining the Hamilton Bulldogs (Montréal Canadiens AHL affiliate) for a five-day training camp, including three exhibition games.

Barry Brust signs with Binghamton


Barry Brust becomes the 3rd goalie in Binghamton, so don't expect to see Robin Lehner in Ottawa this season.
