Eugene Melnyk Has Successful Liver Transplant

Melnyk had successful surgery on Tuesday

The news came out Tuesday evening that Ottawa Senators owner Eugene Melnyk had undergone a successful liver transplant at the Toronto General Hospital. The surgery was performed during the day on Tuesday. Both Melnyk and the donor are said to be in good condition.

This is great news for the Sens community. Regardless of your feelings about Melnyk's moves as owner, nobody should suffer through something like this. Our thoughts are with Melnyk, the anonymous donor, and their respective families. Here's wishing them all a safe and quick road to recovery!
