Craig Anderson out for personal reasons

Chris Driedger re-called from Binghamton

According to the transactions page on the AHL website, Binghamton Senators’ goaltender Chris Driedger has been recalled by parent club Ottawa. Driedger practiced on Wednesday morning and was expected in net for the game against the Utica Comets last night. He was replaced by back-up Matt O’Connor, who earned a 2-1 win.

Although the move has yet to be officially announced, it’s widely believed the reason for the recall is for Ottawa netminder Craig Anderson to take care of some personal matters. Ottawa is currently on a west coast swing and plays next in Calgary on Friday.

Editor’s note: Confirmed that Craig Anderson is out for personal reasons.

Driedger has been solid between the pipes for the BSens so far this early season. In two games he has posted a 1-0-1, 0.96 GAA, 0.961 SV% record, good for fourth best in the AHL. He will likely back-up Andrew Hammond in the game against the Flames.

There is no timetable set for Anderson’s return as Scott Greenham will most likely be called up from Wichita for Binghamton’s next two games on the table for this coming weekend.
