Colin White on Preliminary List for Team USA World Junior Team

White's great season at Boston College hasn't gone unnoticed by USA Hockey.

The Ottawa Senators' first-round pick (21st-overall) in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, Colin White, has been put on Team USA's preliminary roster for the 2016 IIHF World Junior Championships. White is off to a great first season with Boston College, having scored 23 points in 15 games, and this invitation is a validation of his impressive start. He also was a member of the 2015 IIHF U-18 gold medal-winning American squad.

Ottawa's other 2015 first-round pick, Thomas Chabot, was invited to Team Canada's World Junior camp last week. Hopefully both players. Other Sens prospects who have been invited to their countries' camps include Andreas Englund for Team Sweden, and Filip Chlapik for Team Czech Republic. It has also been reported that Englund is in the running to be the captain or an alternate captain with Team Sweden at the event.

The 2016 IIHF World Junior Championships will run from December 26 to January 5 in Helsinki, Finland.
