Boosting Binghamton's playoff roster

Michael Sharp posted on his blog about some of the current Ottawa Senators who might be eligible to join the Binghamton Senators for their AHL playoff run. Sharp postulated Brendan Bell, Brian Lee, and Peter Regin as the three most likely, because they all meet the clear day roster requirements (I don't really know what they are, but Sharp explained them well enough).

The other three potentially-eligible players are Brian Elliott, Nick Foligno, and Ryan Shannon, but Sharp had quotes from assistant GM Tim Murray suggesting that those three joining Bingo was unlikely.

Sharp also mentioned the upcoming AHL trade deadline, tomorrow at 3 p.m., and Murray said that he's looking at finding some players to round out the B-Sens' roster. There is also the possibility of junior or college players, and 2007 first-round pick Jim O'Brien's name was mentioned.

EDIT: And just after I posted this, I saw that Sharp blogged the signing of D Matt Taormina to an amateur tryout contract with Bingo. Taormina, 5'11" and 185 lbs, has 20 goals, 45 assists, 65 points, and 50 penalty minutes in 141 games over four seasons with the NCAAs Providence College Freemen.
