Binghamton Senators Announce Five New Signings
Goaltender Scott Greenham is among the five as the B-Sens' line-up continues to take shape for 2015-'16.
The Binghamton Senators earlier today announced the signings of a goaltender, two forwards and two defensemen. All five are likely earmarked to play for the Evansville IceMen of the ECHL with two players set to make their pro debuts.
- Scott Greenham
The 28 year old netminder has appeared in 35 games over the last three years for the Senators while having his best numbers last season posting up a 15-11-2, 2.77 GAA and a 0.916 SV% in Binghamton while also splitting time in Evansville. He will likely begin for the IceMen as Chris Driedger and Matt O'Connor will be the one/two tandem for the Senators. Greenham has developed to be a fan favorite here in Binghamton and hopefully he'll see some action at some time next season for the Senators.
- Danny Hobbs
Hobbs has played parts of the last two years for the Sens as well as the IceMen, scoring 3 goals and 4 assists in 27 games for the B-Sens. The familiar right winger finished up playing along with Derek Grant and Alex Wideman and this is his final quarter report earning him a C+;
#12 Danny Hobbs - C+ Good hustle and determination. Has come a long ways over the past two seasons sharing time in the ECHL as well as the AHL and looks to possibly earning a spot next season here with the club. Good defender and likes to get involved in front of the net fighting for position.
- Ryan Penny
A native of Fall River, NS Penny was signed undrafted as he finished with the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies of the QMJHL scoring 32 goals, 38 assists in 66 contests and will make his pro debut next season. The forward was traded to the Huskies after three and a half seasons with the Moncton Wildcats where he served as Captain that brought in two high draft picks (2nd and 4th).
- Nick Tuzzolino
Tuzzolino becomes the 11th player under contract for defensemen on the Senators as he skated with the club late last season before an injury shut him down. The 29 year old, 6' 5" 225 lb was a seventh round pick by the NY Islanders back in 2005 and comes into the season with a fresh beginning with the organization after playing for four different teams last season, including 10 games in Binghamton.
- Chris Carlisle
The team made it official with today's announcement as this was released on July 7th by another source, as Carlisle is another player that will make his pro debut after finishing four seasons with the Oshawa Generals of the OHL. The 5' 10" defensman out of Fort Lee, NJ had 17 goals and 73 assists in 226 games for the Generals and was a team mate of Tobias Lindberg as they went on to win the 2015 Memorial Cup for a fifth time in club history.
