Yes, this is certainly sacrilege for some, but DeBrincat is just too expensive for a team that still has so many holes to fill. What is more important, a top 5 forward or a top 4 RHD, depth players and/ or a decent goalie? I cannot see any scenario where DeBrincat’s team leading salary can be justified on a team not quite good enough to make the playoffs, sad but inconveniently true.
