After locking up several core players long term the Sens have spent about half their cap space on 5-6 players, leaving the rest to field a respectable team with more depth than they have now. Yes, "dead weight" contracts will come off the books, rookies are cheap for a few seasons and the cap will go up, but I fear not enough to offset the signings of upcoming superstars like Sanderson and current superstar DeBrincat (see inconvenient truth #3). Some real hard decisions will have to be made if this team is to make the playoff "promised land"!
