Ottawa Senators Select Zack Ostapchuk 39th Overall

Sens grab a big forward

With the 39th overall selection in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft, the Ottawa Senators have selected Zack Ostapchuk. Ostapchuk is a big centre who’s played three seasons in the WHL with the Vancouver Giants. Like Boucher before him, Ostapchuk is something of a non-consensus pick: Bob McKenzie had him at 95th on his final list for instance.

The general scouting consensus seems to be that Ostapchuk has a lot of the physical tools but is very much a project.

Welcome to Ottawa, Zack!
