The Leafs are shopping him and the Sens seem like they're in the market for a veteran goalie to pair with Hogberg next season. Is Nilsson going to be healthy when the season starts? Hard to say if it's concussion issues, so the Sens are going to have to grab someone.
Here's why Andersen makes a lot of sense. 1) He's only actually owed $1 million next year but has a $5 million cap hit. 2) He's used to getting shelled, since he's played behind the Leafs' defence for years. 3) He's not elite, but he'd be a solid 1A to hold the reins until Hogberg is ready to take over. 4) He'd be a great piece to flip at the deadline (like Lehner was this year for the Hawks).
The big question would be what the return would have to be to get him in a trade. What do you all think? Should they make a move for him? And if they do, what would you be willing to part with?
