Happy draft season!

With the 2020 NHL draft potentially being the biggest one in Ottawa Senators history, we at the Cost Per Pointcast are ramping up production, resurrecting last season’s series of Draft Debaters!

Every Tuesday and Thursday over the next month, two scouts will be joining each episode to debate some of their most differently ranked prospects. With such a large variety of opinions existing on so many players, we hope to bring in a variety of perspectives to keep us all informed ahead of the draft, whenever that will end up taking place.

In the first episode I’m joined by Josh Tessler of Future Considerations and Smaht Scouting, as well as TPEHockey (AKA Max) from The Prospect Network. Click the following links to find the rankings cited from Josh in April and Max in February, as well as the article mentioned from Max published earlier this month.

Time stamps are listed at the bottom.

0:00 — Intro

2:19 — Lucas Raymond vs. Tim Stützle

11:31 — Yaroslav Askarov

24:10 — Seth Jarvis

30:47 — Kasper Simontaival

39:01 — Possible late round steals

If you enjoy the podcast, you can follow us on Twitter @CPPointcast where you’ll be the first to know about new episodes. Come back on Thursday where we’ll be joined by Derek Neumeier and Larry Fisher!
