Hockey may be gone for now, and seasons may likely be over. But even after a sudden finish, it’s still worth looking back at what was an excellent and eventful year in the land of Ottawa Senators prospects.

From a dominant season for the B-Sens to a swarm of breakout NCAA players, this year’s group has made mine and Ary’s job a lot easier, with standout performances being delivered every week. This is the deepest we’ve seen the team’s prospect pool in a while, and as is becoming an annual tradition, we’d like to recognize those who rose above the rest.

However, there are two key changes this year. First, this will be turned into a weekly series, starting on March 31st and going until May 12th, with even more in-depth analysis. Second, we’d like to get you involved, which brings us to the weekly question!

At the bottom of this post is a Google Form, which contains a ballot for every award (use this link if it doesn’t work). Here are the awards that you can vote on:

  1. Best First Year NHL Pro: Awarded to the prospect who had the best break into the NHL.
  2. Most Improved Prospect: Awarded to the prospect who elevated their game the most over the course of the last season.
  3. Biggest Disappointment: Awarded to the prospect who didn’t quite meet the expectations they had going into the year.
  4. Top Newcomer: Awarded to the most outstanding prospect who entered the Senators organization in the last year.
  5. Best Defenceman: Awarded to the most outstanding defenceman.
  6. Best Goalie: Awarded to the most outstanding goaltender.
  7. Most Valuable Prospect (MVP): Awarded to the most outstanding Senators prospect from the 2019-20 season!

Who do you think deserves to take home the virtual hardware? Fill out the ballot and let us know in the comments!
