Game 56 Preview & Open Thread: Ottawa Senators @ Colorado Avalanche

The Senators wrap up their mini road trip with a visit to the Colorado Avalanche tonight. Ottawa will be looking to exact a bit of revenge from last Thursday’s loss, as well as snap a five game winless streak. Colorado, on the other hand, will be looking to make up more ground on the division lead.

D.J. Smith confirmed that the lineup will remain the same as it was on Saturday. No word if that includes the choice of starting goaltender.

Game Notes

• From the other side of the ice, Nazem Kadri is out “weeks, not days” after an apparent leg injury in Sunday’s game
• Kadri isn’t the only C on a contender to go down to injury this week. Not good news for those teams, and might not be good news if you’re on “Team Keep Pageau” if those teams go looking for some rental help
• With no lineup changes, Mikkel Boedker will be appearing in his 700th career NHL game tonight
• Let’s hope for a better start tonight than last Thursday, when it took two power plays and most of a period for the Sens to get their first shot on goal
• It is Colorado’s first home game in over three weeks. Between that and the waxing they gave Ottawa last week, the Sens might be able to catch them napping
• It’s a 9pm EST start, on TSN5 and RDS/
