The Ottawa Senators have strayed away from their UND picks but continue with the trend of drafting taller kids. With their sixth round and 158th pick, the Sens select QMJHL LW Philippe Daoust.

Hailing from Barie, ONT; Daoust spent the past season with the Moncton Wildcats of the QMJHL scoring 29 points (7g, 22a) in 58 games. While he has spent his career fighting the odds so far, he seems to have found a great offensive touch with the Wildcats this past season and is only expected to continue to improve and surprise.

Philippe Daoust was passed on by the OHL draft but has found success in the QMJHL and seems to have shown that he can thrive when challenged.

He is being touted as an underdog who has constantly proven people wrong and exceeded expectation.

Welcome to Ottawa, Phillipe!
