Senators Begin New Era With Revamped Jerseys
Ottawa is back in black.
In more ways than one, it’ll be a new-look Ottawa Senators team taking to the Canadian Tire Centre ice whenever next season begins. With a plethora of draft picks to be selected, and moves to be made, a new era of Ottawa Senators hockey is set to begin in 2021.
And what better way to kick it off than with some sleek new uniforms?

In what came as a long-awaited announcement, the Senators finally unveiled their new uniform set. Returning to the 2D logo, and black home set that were iconic throughout the 1990’s.
In an event broadcast on CTV Ottawa, Sens President of Business Operations Anthony LeBlanc first expressed his affinity for the new look as a fan to CTV’s Matt Skube, and the organizational excitement about the entire evening. Chris Phillips was also interviewed, speaking about how much he loved the old/new logo.
After what seemed like forever, the CTV segment cut to Connor Brown modelling the black uniforms, and Nick Paul rocking the whites. Seeing as both are RFA’s, it seems fairly obvious now that they’ll be receiving contract extensions from the team.

“It’s when the organization was at its best”, said head coach D.J. Smith, “We’re looking to get back there”.
Rumours of the rebrand had long circulated in Ottawa, but first had legs when The Athletic’s Hailey Salvian got a sneak peek at mock-ups of the new logo and uniforms. Since then, there have been various leaks, but it’s safe to say that fans are pretty fired up about the return to the classic look.
They’ll have plenty more to be excited about, when the 2020 NHL Entry Draft taking place tonight, at 7pmET.
All part of a new decade, and a new era for the Ottawa Senators.
