2020 S7S Playoff Bracket Challenge: Play-in Round
At long last, the fun is about to begin.
After months of preparation, the continuation of the 2019-20 NHL season is finally upon us.
The twenty-four contending teams will begin an unprecedented battle for the Stanley Cup on August 1st. And while fans of the Ottawa Senators may not be cheering for any of them in particular (except for Florida!), we’re more than willing to bet on them for our personal gain.
Yep, it’s time for the 2020 edition of the Silver Seven Sens Playoff Bracket Challenge!
Just like last year, the winner will receive a $30 gift card for the NHL.com store, and of course, bragging rights. Our defending champion, freshprinceof4thline, mysteriously vanished back in mid-October so we’re practically guaranteed a brand-new champion this year...probably?
This year, the teams will be re-seeded in two instances; after the play-in and round-robin, and also after the Round of 16, in similar fashion to playoff formats prior to 2014. Therefore, we’ll need to run more polls than usual. This first poll will be run strictly for the play-in round, and you can enter anytime before 12:00 PM EST on August 1st. To enter, simply fill out the form below (also available here), providing your Silver Seven username, along with your picks for each round. You’ll receive 2 points for picking the winner of a series, plus 1 extra point for guessing the correct number of games in that series.
