IIHF Men’s World Hockey Championships Open Thread

Better late than never, right?

The IIHF Men’s World Hockey Championships are upon us, and as Senators fans, it gives us a chance to keep watching our players compete. Team Canada, the home country of most of you, boasts Thomas Chabot, as well as former Sens Mark Stone and Kyle Turris. There are other Sens though getting their international feet wet, including Colin White and Christian Wolanin for the USA, Christian Jaros for Slovakia, Mikkel Boedker for Denmark (joining Peter Regin!), and Rudolfs Balcers for Latvia. The tournament also features players who play for teams such as Asiago Hockey, which just makes me hungry.

We’re about halfway into the tournament (as of May 16th), with the group stage lasting until May 21st. The elimination round starts on May 23rd, with the bronze and gold medal games on Sunday, May 26th. You can find the official schedule here. All games are on the TSN family of channels in Canada.
