Senators Re-Sign Ryan Dzingel

The Ottawa Senators have signed Ryan Dzingel to a one-year, two way contract.

After signing nearly a handful of players that will fill out spots with their AHL affiliate in Binghamton during Free Agent Frenzy, the Ottawa Senators have made their first move to stabilize their NHL squad.

It was announced today that Pierre Dorion and company have agreed to terms with forward Ryan Dzingel on a one-year, two-way contract.

Yes, it is a two-way contract, meaning Dzingel could be back-and-forth between the AHL and NHL, but the 24-year-old has proven himself as a full-time NHLer. And if the Senators aren't going to make any acquisitions this summer - which seems to be the case up front - he's more than capable of slotting in on the third or fourth line.

Dzingel had 9 points in 30 games with the big club last season, also adding 36 in 44 with Binghamton.

So, the list of free agents becomes shorter. Dorion will now turn to Mike Hoffman, Cody Ceci, Matt Puempel and Fredrik Claesson as the Sens offseason continues.
