Michael Blunden Rounds Out Busy Day For Senators
Ottawa adds more depth with their sixth signing of the day benefiting Binghamton Senators
The Ottawa Senators continued re-stocking their affiliate in Binghamton with their sixth signing of the day by adding another veteran in forward Michael Blunden for two years at $725,000/$275,000 per season. Blunden joins defenseman Michael Kostka, and forwards Chad Nehring, Max McCormick, Phil Varone and Casey Bailey as those that have new two-way contracts that are available if and when needed in Ottawa this coming season.

Blunden, 29, last played for the Tampa Bay Lightning Organization as well as spending some time in Syracuse in which he recorded 21 goals and 17 assists in 49 contests for the Crunch. His pro career broke out in the spring of 2006 with the Norfolk Admirals and has played in 124 NHL games over the course of his 10 year career with Chicago Blackhawks, Columbus Blue Jackets, Montreal Canadiens and Tampa Bay.
He is listed at 6' 4" and was drafted by Chicago as a second rounder (43rd overall) in 2005. Blunden looks to make some noise at Senators Camp battling with Nick Paul, Max McCormick, Ryan Dzingel and Matt Puempel.
