Chris Driedger Recalled in Relief of Andrew Hammond

New, comments

The Ottawa Senators have recalled Driedger from Binghmaton in order to give Hammond time to deal with a personal matter.

The Ottawa Senators announced today that they will be bringing up Chris Driedger from their AHL affiliate in Binghamton.

A couple people had noticed earlier in the day that Andrew Hammond had been left off the Senators' roster, leaving the small possibility of an unlikely trade, but it was made clear by the organization that the 27-year-old will be taking some time off to deal with a personal matter.

During his time in Binghamton this season, Driedger is 9-8-1 with a 2.99 goals against average and a .904 save percentage.

The Senators only have two games this week as they head to California for their yearly road trip through Death Valley.

This week, they take on the Anaheim Ducks Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET, and will play the Los Angeles Kings in an afternoon game on Saturday at 4 p.m. ET.
