I'm really puzzled exactly why the Sabres couldn't trade Ehrhoff for something... anything??? Do you mean to tell me all 29 teams declined to take Ehrhoff for a 7th round pick in next year's draft? This guy played the most minutes on the Sabres last year, and we could have gotten him for a late round pick next year.
And why on earth would the Lightning basically trade Purcell for a 6th round pick, and dump Crombeen in the process for nothing.
Sure it's about clearing cap space, but what about managing assets in the process? My theory is that anything in return is better than nothing?
