37 - The Ottawa Senators power play percentage during their recent 6-1-1 surge. The Senators have scored on 10 out of their 27 power play chances and have in fact gone 10 for 23 in the six wins.
As with all things in Ottawa, Jason Spezza and Erik Karlsson lead the way with five power play points each during that span. Karlsson is now third in the NHL in power play points with 25 while Spezza is eighth with 22.
The recent success has also pushed the Senators to 8th in power play conversion rate at 19.5% and 7th in power play goals with 42. For all the talk of the referees disliking Ottawa, the Senators do get 3.36 power plays per game, ranking 15th in the NHL, or just about average. Ottawa is shorthanded 3.81 times per game, second most in the NHL, but that has more to do with the type of players that the Sens employ.
Considering the Bruins are the Senators most likely playoff opponent, a strong power play in the playoffs will be absolutely crucial. Having said that, the Bruins are some how only the 18th most shorthanded team.
