Sorry for the delay everyone, here is the game thread. Craig Anderson will start again, no other lineup changes. You might also notice a few players from the Toronto Blue Jays in the crowd as part of their winter tour, including star pitcher Ricky Romero, J.P. Arencibia and Brett Lawrie. Okay, okay! Blue Jay! Blue Jay! Let's! Play! Ball!
Ahem...so anyway, the Senators lost in overtime to the Flyers but generally played very well and could have easily come away with the victory. After tonight, the Senators play 9 of the next 10 games on the road. Here is the lineup from yesterday:
Colin Greening - Jason Spezza - Milan Michalek
Erik Condra - Kyle Turris - Daniel Alfredsson
Nick Foligno - Zack Smith - Bobby Butler
Kaspars Daugavins - Zenon Konopka - Chris Neil
Filip Kuba - Erik Karlsson
Jared Cowen - Sergei Gonchar
Chris Phillips - Matt Carkner
Craig Anderson (starter)
Things to look out for tonight:
Craig Anderson: He's been spectacular for five games in a row and finally providing the Senators the type of goaltending that was expected.
Intense game: Yesterday's game was full of intensity and scoring chances and one of the most entertaining games of the year for Ottawa. Playing the same opponent the next day, could we have yet another good game?
Two important points: With a lot of tough road games coming up, two points today would be very beneficial. Ottawa is currently in sixth place, but can open up a five point lead over ninth with a win.
Can Phillips rebound?: Chris Phillips had a pretty poor game, with probably his fifth or sixth own goal of the year. He was also responsible for the winning goal in overtime. It was also his first game back from concussion though.
