2012 NHL Entry Draft, day two - Ottawa Senators open thread
On Friday, the Ottawa Senators selected Cody Ceci from the Ottawa 67s with their first-round pick.
Today, for rounds two to seven, the Sens have another six picks to use--none in the second round just yet, although it was reported (I can't recall by who) that the team was looking to move back into the second round. It might be a worthwhile move: There are still a lot of highly-touted prospects available, including defencemen Matt Finn and Ville Pokka, right wingers Sebastian Collberg and Martin Frk, left wingers Phillip Di Giuseppe and Pontus Aberg, and goaltender Oscar Dansk--the latter is especially notable since Tim Murray is on record saying that the Senators will draft a goaltender at some point in the draft.
Plus there are still plenty of trade possibilities circulating. Zbynek Michalek is off the market after the Penguins traded him to the Coyotes last night, and Jared Staal moved earlier in the day from the Pens to the Hurricanes. Will Rick Nash, Bobby Ryan, or any other big names get moved on day two of the draft? It seems less likely, but you never know.
