Silver Nuggets: Phillips wants to lead; Regin survives injury scare

New, comments

The Sens play tomorrow! The Sens play tomorrow! Okay, it is only the rookie tournament, but still, it's a game. Before I get to the links a couple of points:

  • Someone dropped out of the second fantasy league, so if you want in, there is a spot for a draft at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, 11 September. The first league is full and will draft at 3:00 p.m. tomorrow if you joined it. If you want in, email me at the address here. The league is now full again, thanks to everyone for joining!
  • With the NFL season starting last night, and the rest of the games on Sunday, I want to say Go Patriots!

Here are today's links:

  • Chris Phillips hopes to be a leader to the club's younger defencemen and doesn't think his role will ever change too much. I was strongly against his resigning, but hopefully he can have at least an average season this time. (Ottawa Sun)
  • Peter Regin gave us an injury scare while playing soccer football, but he is fine thankfully. (Bruce Garrioch)
  • Jared Cowen is confident he can make the Ottawa roster, but points out that he doesn't expect the club's veteran defencemen to offer him too much help as he is competing with some of them for a job. (Ottawa Senators)
  • The Senators are enhancing the fan experience at games with, err, egg rolls among other things. (Ottawa Senators)
  • The banners outside Scotiabank Place have been updated, here are some pictures. (Senators Extra)
  • Here is an analysis on why the Senators season might go better than expected, including a new coach, better goaltending, a healthy Spezza, and bounce back seasons and more. (Sens Underground)
