Stanley Cup Playoffs, day twenty-seven: Canucks try again to eliminate the Predators

New, comments

The Vancouver Canucks will tonight try to improve on their 1-4 record in games in the 2011 playoffs where they can clinch a series, as they visit the Nashville Predators in game six of their second round series. The Canucks did win both games in Nashville so far in this series, so they have that going for them. This series may not be the most thrilling in terms of hockey, but it has been very close with all five games decided by one goal (excluding the empty net goal in game four).

Ryan Kesler is red hot right now for the Canucks, with five goals and eight points in his last three games. The Sedins are still struggling, with Daniel having just the two assists in his last six games and Henrik having three points in the last six games (all three of Henrik's points were in game four).

For the Predators, Joel Ward has been a revelation in the playoffs, scoring in each of his last three games, including two goals in game five. He has seven goals in the playoffs so far and has recorded a point in all but two games. David Legwand also scored twice in game five and has four goals in the last three games. Former Senator Mike Fisher has been struggling offensively since recording five points in his first three games against Anaheim, having 0 goals, 2 assists in his last 8 playoff games.
