The Atlanta Thrashers are plummeting: They have one win in their last seven games, and only four wins in the last 21 games. They're still in the thick of the playoff run, but falling fast, and so they should be desperate for a win tonight to stay in the picture. The Senators were struggling as badly as the Thrashers, but have gone 4-3-1 in the last eight games.

Some players I'll be watching tonight:

  • Tobias Enstrom: Enstrom is having an incredible year, and is leading the Thrashers in scoring. He's very similar in size to Erik Karlsson, and might be a good player for EK to model himself after.
  • Erik Karlsson: Kid has been struggling since the All-Star Break. I'm waiting for that night when he breaks out of his funk and puts up 3-4 points; is tonight that night?
  • Jason Spezza: Is the only legitimate, established offensive threat among Ottawa's forwards, and will be working again tonight with a couple of rookies. Can he raise his game? Can he lead the team to a win?
  • Dustin Byfuglien: After a scorching first half, he's cooled down remarkably: 4P (2G, 2A) in the last 22GP. As Buff has gone, so has the team; how will he go tonight?

As always, join us here to talk all about the game and junk.

Edit: Mark here. Now, you fellas have said some pretty mean things. Some of which *were* true under that fiend, Boss Grissom. He *was* a thief, and a terrorist. On the other hand he had a tremendous singing voice. He's dead now, and he's left me in charge. Now, I can be theatrical, and maybe even a little rough - but one thing I am not is a *killer*. I am an artist. I *love* a good party. So, truce. Commence au festival!

You may or may not know that I have brought my financial misfortune superpowers to Atlanta after having done their job in Phoenix. In short, I'll be attending this one. Anything you'd like my useless opinion on? Post it in the comments and I'll try to answer in an article, which will appear tomorrow afternoon whether you like it or not. Those of you looking for screaming hijinks will be disappointed as I'll be watching from a private suite, which I got for less than you are paying for the next Silver Seven Hockey Night. Yes, it might be fair to say the Thrashers are in trouble financially. I should have some good sight lines, so I'll be trying to watch the play as a whole as objectively as I can. My impressions will be about as worthless as my posts in the comments section, so I expect each of you to do their duty in my absence while I'm at this game. GO SENS GO!
