They are fragile, focusing on trying not to make mistakes. Which alternatively has the adverse effect. Like not wanting the puck in case a mistake is made.
They know they're under a microscope and that takes the focus away from simply playing the game the way they're capable of.
Defend in the offensive zone by overwhelming the opponent, even at the cost of making a mistake. It will make for more offense, scoring and confidence...not to mention, entertaining hockey & positive fan support..
If they can compete with Pittsburgh, they can compete with anyone...with the right focus in mind.
