This makes pretty good sense to me.  Sure the fans may be howling about it, but with both the coach and the GM in the last year of their contracts, what sense does it make to sack either of them?  I believe they're still paying Paddock and Hartsberg to not coach the team, why add a third to that list. 

This is pretty much what I wanted to see the team do.  I don't think Cory Clouston is the problem, so at least getting to the offseason so they can reassess things makes sense.  Then if they make changes at the trade deadline they can see if Clouston can make things work with some young bodies at the tail end of the season.
