Tonight it's the hottest team in the Eastern Conference taking on the coldest team in the league: The Flyers are 8-2-0 in their last ten games, and the Sens are an embarrassing 1-6-3 over the same span. The Senators Have had some good games recently, including their 2-1 shootout loss to the Anaheim Ducks, but the Flyers have, too--and unlike Ottawa, Philadelphia has been winning them.
Some players I'll be watching tonight:
- Milan Michalek: Has been the best Senator throughout the 2011 calendar year so far. Can he keep up his speed, and his strong play?
- Brian Elliott: Played pretty well against Anaheim, but still can't seem to string together a series of good performances. Maybe tonight will mark the beginning of a streak for him.
- Chris Pronger: Will play his first game since Dec. 15 against Ottawa tonight. Hopefully he keeps his elbows down, but on the plus side it's unlikely any Senator will be scoring milestones, so Pronger won't have any pucks to steal.
- Andrej Meszaros: The former Senator is having a bounce-back year this season, and leads the league in plus-minus. He also scored an overtime winner in Philly's last game.
