Silver Nuggets: Gonchar returns to Pittsburgh

Complete Coverage >

Big game tonight for the Ottawa Senators as they look to get their second win of the season against the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Pens have won their last two games, while Ottawa lost last game after getting their first win of the season. Some things to look for tonight:

  • Brian Elliott will start. Any chance Robin Lehner could see some time? After last game, anything seems possible.
  • Matt Carkner will play with Chris Phillips and be tasked with shutting down Sidney Crosby tonight, according to the Ottawa Sun. That's right, we are asking last year's number six defenceman to step up and fill the shoes of the departed Anton Volchenkov. We'll see how he responds.
  • Other than Carkner jumping up, no lineup changes, meaning that Zack Smith is still the scratch.
  • The Senators played a game of 'strip shootout' yesterday. I assume this means a winning streak is just ahead.
  • Pens 'backup' Brent Johnson gets the start. Johnson is 3-0 this season. Pens 'starter' Marc-Andre Fleury is 0-3 this season. Draw conclusions as you'd like.

Lines after the jump. Game time is 7 p.m. tonight.
