Senators cut nine, and B-Sens release their training camp roster

The Ottawa Senators' first round of training camp cuts were announced today: defencemen Paul Baier, Mat Robinson, Craig Schira and Kyle Wharton, and forwards Jason Bailey, Keegan Dansereau, Kaspars Daugavins, Matt Lowry and Brandon Svendsen.

A few of those guys--notably Schira, Wharton, and Dansereau--had great showings in the Kitchener rookie tournament, so they should have a great chance in the Binghamton Senators training camp. Speaking of which, take the jump to see the B-Sens list of invited players.

Forwards Defencemen Goaltenders
Jason Bailey Matt Lowry Paul Baier Mat Robinson Shane Connelly

Wes Cunningham Tim Spencer Sean Erickson Joe Smith
Keegan Dansereau Dustin Sproat Travis Gawryletz Kyle Wharton
Kaspars Daugavins Brandon Svendsen
Brett Gallant Colton Yellow Horn

Looks like a pretty small roster for the time being, but the Sens' still have plenty more cuts to make. In fact, you can bet a lot of these players will be suiting up for the Elmira Jackals in the ECHL this season, but I've got a feeling Dansereau, Schira, Wharton, and Daugavins all have a good chance of of staying in the AHL.

H/T to Michael Sharp for the roster.
