Seriously good hockey story here.
A rare chance to see Islanders' junior prospects as Ryan Strome (Team OHL) takes on Andrey Pedan (Team Russia) at 7pm. And it's free!
It is official. The Jets have re-assigned Mark Scheifele to the Barrie Colts. 7 games played. 1 goal.

Illegal Curve breaks this one because the Jets official site kinda sucks when it comes to updating. Good move, of course, since we'd been calling for it from the get-go. Let's hope he focuses on his skating, faceoffs, and filling out his physique down there, as all three were clearly an issue.
Yahoo Sports Junior themed hockey blog, Buzzing the Net, reports OHL director of scouting, Rob Kitamura, is lleavign his position with the OHL to become a scout with the tampa Bay Lightning. It may just seem like a small bit of unimportant news, but when the guy responsible for the selection of (then) junior level stars Drew Doughty, Logan Coture and P.K. Subban is the scout in question... Well, it makes things interesting.
The Bruins organization has signed defenseman Marc Cantin of the Mississauga St. Michael’s Majors to an entry-level contract. The 6'1" 201 lb blue liner recorded 10 goals and 31 assists in 61 games this season in the OHL as a 20-year-old.
Just when things were starting to look up, Panthers prospect Erik Gudbranson was suspended indefinitely by the OHL for his "body of work" over the weekend.
The OHL Prospects blog takes a look at one of Martindale's latest games. It seems the big kid is turning the corner. If he can keep it up, Scott Campbell thinks he's got a little bit of Joe Thornton in him.
14 goals and 10 assists in twelve games for the Owen Sound Attack forward. Sheesh.
