Per TSN's Bob McKenzie, the Ottawa Senators have traded Nick Foligno to the Columbus Blue Jackets for defenceman Marc Methot. Methot, 6'3" and 225 lbs, is an Ottawa native who has drafted 168th in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. He has spent his entire career with Columbus.
Blue Jackets' defenseman Jack Johnson reprises his 2010 role with the United States team at the World Championships, being named the team's Captain for the 2012 tournament, which kicks off tomorrow. This is Johnson's fifth time on the US team, including four straight years from 2009-present.
Former Wild coach Todd Richards has taken over head coaching duties after Columbus released Scott Arniel. Congrats to Richards. Now please take your mojo away from Yeo so he can get the Wild back on track.
In a vote held Monday evening, the Columbus City Council approved the proposed Arena deal by a unanimous margin. Up next it will go before the mayor and the Franklin County Commissioners.
