"AHL announced that Binghamton Senators defenseman Mark Borowiecki has been added to the Eastern Conference roster for the 2012 AHL All-Star Classic. Borowiecki, a 22-year-old rookie, made his professional debut at the end of the 2010-11 season and helped Binghamton to a Calder Cup championship. In 42 AHL games with the Senators this year, he has recorded three goals and 12 assists along with 76 penalty minutes and a plus-3 rating. A native of Kanata, Ont., Borowiecki made his NHL debut for his hometown Ottawa Senators on Jan. 1"

Yeah, seriously. He's doing pretty awesomely in the KHL this season, though: 40P (18G, 22A) in 36GP.

Former Sens Chara, Hossa and Brian Elliott (which is sure to delight his #1 fan) will also be attending.

Great day for Sens fans.
Four all star starters (Michalek surpasses Kessel, being the only suprise),
a good win (Turris' first goal, Alfie 3 points),
and are 1st rounder looking dominant, and scoring the golden goal.

Should give us a nice offensive boost. Gotta wonder how the lines will shake up. Does Bobby Butler get scratched again?

Good showing for the Sens prospects. One of Zibby's goals was into an empty net, but a strong game nevertheless.

Merry Christmas, everyone!

Bob McKenzie and Bruce Garrioch have confirmed that Kyle Turris is coming to Ottawa. Garrioch says the deal is for a "player and a pick". No word yet on who that might be.

The Sens are giving up David Rundblad and a second round pick for Kyle Turris -- a rather steep price.

We will have full analysis of this trade coming shortly.
