Good news from the Sens about our favourite captain. "Ottawa Senators owner Eugene Melnyk and general manager Bryan Murray announced today that team captain Daniel Alfredsson has announced his intentions to return for his 17th National Hockey League season in 2012-13."

Per TSN's Bob McKenzie, the Ottawa Senators have traded Nick Foligno to the Columbus Blue Jackets for defenceman Marc Methot. Methot, 6'3" and 225 lbs, is an Ottawa native who has drafted 168th in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. He has spent his entire career with Columbus.
