Guy Boucher not tipping his hand on game-time decisions

It remains to be seen if Methot, Dzingel play

The main takeaway from Guy Boucher’s pre-game media availability was that he’s not a fan of dancing around the issue. When Dean Brown asked if he was planning to scratch any veterans, Boucher responded by saying, “Most of our players are veterans.” When Brown continued to ask about “a real veteran”, Boucher interrupted him to say, “You want to know if Zinger [Ryan Dzingel] is playing.” The Ottawa Senators coach then smiled slightly, knowing he’d shown the media that they weren’t going to be able to trick him into giving away lineup decisions.

Boucher was very clear in the fact that Marc Methot would be playing if it was a Game 7, but that they might give him another game off if it will make him much more ready for the weekend.

Boucher also answered a smattering of other questions. He mentioned that he hasn’t seen a difference (or at least a difference he’s revealing) between Claude Julien’s and Bruce Cassidy’s Bruins. He also said that he’s telling Chris Wideman to just keep his focus, same as he should for any game. His focus is what’s got him to playing in his first NHL playoff game. But it seems that until tonight’s warmup is over, we won’t know who’s playing for sure.
