Erik Karlsson out “weeks” with lower body injury (April Fools)

The captain has been playing injured for the last week, according to Guy Boucher

In an interview this morning in Winnipeg, Guy Boucher broke the news that Erik Karlsson will be out for “weeks” with an undisclosed lower body injury. The Senators’ leading point scorer had apparently been playing the last week injured, and the blocked shot against Philadelphia on Tuesday “sent him over the edge”.

Ottawa’s 5-1 loss to Minnesota on Thursday was the team’s first time playing without Karlsson since 2013, when he was out with a torn Achilles. With the playoffs starting in less than two weeks and the Sens still needing to clinch, the injury couldn’t have come at a worse time.

Let’s hope for a speedy recovery for the captain. Boucher’s full interview can be found here.
