Big Three Returning For Binghamton Senators

Phil Varone, Casey Bailey and Max McCormick all re-signed this afternoon with the Ottawa Senators

The Ottawa Senators signed three important players in a busy day for the Binghamton Senators in Phil Varone, Casey Bailey and Max McCormick, with one still remaining outstanding.

Varone was obtained part of the late season trade with the Buffalo Sabres and was a key player for Binghamton down the stretch where he scored 6 goals and added 17 assists in 21 appearances with the Senators. The 5'10" center has a feisty edge to his game and is intense around the net while adding some grit.

Bailey joined Binghamton in the Toronto Maple Leafs trade with Ottawa and finished with 7 goals and 14 assists in 30 games in his rookie season. The 24-year-old native out of Anchorage, AK will be a leader coming up this season as he continues in his development at the pro level.

McCormick signed out of Ohio State University and will be joining the Senators Organization in his third season of play. The hard nosed, forward scored 15 goals and 15 assists in 57 games for Binghamton last season along with 143 PIM. McCormick made his NHL debut on Oct 25th, 2015 and played in 20 contests with Ottawa and ended up with a pair of goals and two helpers.

Only one left on my wish list is forward Jason Akeson.
