Senators to Sign Chris Neil to One-Year Extension

Chris Neil will sign on the dotted line for one more year in the nation's capital.

The past couple weeks, it had seemed like the Senators were getting closer and closer to re-signing Chris Neil for another season. And around 4:30 p.m. ET today, it was reported that they were nearly done negotiations.

Now, the 36-year-old will sign on the dotted line for at least another year in Ottawa.

There will be a little something added to the contract, as well.

While Neil turns 37 this summer, it's likely that he will be the oldest Senator on the roster come October with Chris Phillips unlikely to sign an extension.

Neil is currently 45 games from 1000 games played in a Senators uniform.

Do you like a 1-year, $1.5 million extension?
