The last game I went to that Alfy played here, I was marveling at the sheer numbers of #11 jerseys that were present in the building. I loved Alfy as much as most of you did, and my heart got carved out onto a plate when the news of his departure came out. A season later, I must admit that he knew more about the "potential" of this team than anyone. He knew that we had misevaluated the progress of our core of dmen. He knew that we would fall short, and not have a hope in Hell of competing with the best teams. I hope we can put feelings aside and anoint Alfy Director of Player Development when he is ready to retire. Mostly I hope that we spend some time and energy and money on fixing the defensive side of this team, so that we don't lead the league in in goals against anymore.
