Guide on Who to Cheer For: Feb. 3- 9

While Ottawa did get 4 out of 6 points last week, and briefly held a playoff spot, their competition did them absolutely no favours. Teams Ottawa needed to lose went 11-7-3. Not good. Here's this weeks list!

Monday, February 3

Vancouver @ Detroit

Colorado @ New Jersey

Columbus @ Anaheim

Philadelphia @ San Jose

4 Western Conference teams against 4 teams in direct competition for the WC spot. Let's hope that western conference advantage shows up again.

Tuesday, February 4

Colorado @ NYR

Winnipeg @ Carolina

Calgary @ Montreal

Toronto @ Florida

NYI @ Washington

Tampa Bay @ Minnesota

Again, a lot of Western teams here. Florida and the Isles have no shot at the playoffs, so let's hope they can play spoiler for us.

Wednesday, February 5

No games affect Ottawa.

Thursday, February 6

Edmonton @ NYR

Colorado @ Philadelphia

Winnipeg @ Washington

Vancouver @ Montreal

Toronto @ Tampa Bay

Detroit @ Florida

Columbus @ Los Angeles

Lots of games to keep an eye on today. We really need the western teams to pick up some slack this week.

Friday, February 7

Edmonton @ New Jersey

NYR @ Pittsburgh

Florida @ Carolina

Columbus @ San Jose

Easy choices today. I unfortunately don't see Florida winning a lot this week, and we really need them to.

Saturday, February 8

Calgary @ Philadelphia

Vancouver @ Toronto

Montreal @ Carolina

Detroit @ Tampa Bay

New Jersey @ Washington

Last day of games before the Olympic break, and we've got a bunch of games to watch. MTL/CAR and NJ/WAS are the first two games this week to have both games affect the WC position. But screw the Habs, and Washington is stronger than the Devils in my opinion.

Sunday, February 9

Olympic Break, no more games until after.

There you have it. Another busy week for the Eastern Conference Wild Card spots. Hopefully Ottawa can get some help. Oh, and of course:

Ottawa @ Pittsburgh (Mon, Feb 3)

Ottawa @ St. Louis (Tue, Feb 4)

Buffalo @ Ottawa (Thur, Feb 6)

Ottawa @ Boston (Sat, Feb 8)
