Benoit and Smith - Bruce Bennett

Zack Smith C 2008-2009, 2009-2010

Born in Maple Creek, Saskatchewan in 1988, Smith was drafted 79th overall by the Ottawa Senators in 2008. Smith is the nephew of Barry Dean, a former WHA and NHL winger with the Phoenix Roadrunners, Colorado Rockies, and Philadelphia Flyers who was drafted 2nd overall in the 1975 NHL Draft. After four seasons with the Swift Current Broncos he received an amateur tryout with the Manitoba Moose of the AHL. Smith spent the majority of the 2008-09 and 2009-10 seasons with the Binghamton Senators before securing a place in Ottawa during the 2010-11 season. Smith made the move to #15 during the 2010-2011 season.

Andre Benoit D 2010-2011

Born in St. Albert, Ontario in 1984, Benoit was undrafted after five years of junior hockey with the Kitchener Rangers of the OHL. He signed with the Hamilton Bulldogs of the AHL in 2005. His played earned him a three-year deal with the Montreal Canadiens in the 2006. He spent the 2005-2006 and 2006-2007 seasons with the Bulldogs, winning the Calder Cup in 2007. His contract with Montreal finished in 2007 and he went to Europe, playing a season for Tappara Tampere in Finland and Södertälje SK in Sweden. In 2009 he signed a one-year deal with the Canadiens and spent the the season with Hamilton. The following season, he signed a one-year, two-way deal with the Ottawa Senators. Assigned to Binghamton, he made his NHL debut and played 8 regular season games with the Senators. He spent the post-season in Binghamton, and helped lead the B-Sens to a Calder Cup championship. He played for Spartak Moscow in the KHL during the 2011-2012 season and returned to North America for a second time in 2012, signing another one-year, two-way deal with Ottawa. Injuries and reliable play allowed Benoit the opportunity to remain in the NHL for the majority of the 2012-2013 season, wearing #61. He currently plays for the Colorado Avalanche.

Best #47: Zack Smith

Smith has made a much greater impact at #15, but there's not much going on with this number.

Worst #47: Andre Benoit

He wasn't able to make an impact wearing #47 and was forced to continue his career in the KHL. Fortunately, he fared much better in #61.
