(Note: Thanks to @Wham_City for correctly pointing out that Maidens was participating in the Owen Sound Attack training camp when his symptoms returned.)
UPDATE: Forward Jarrod Maidens has returned home after suffering fro recurring concussion symptoms. No timetable for return. #bestwishes— Owen Sound Attack (@AttackOHL) September 1, 2013
These symptoms are nothing new to Maidens, who hasn't played since he suffered a concussion on November 30, 2011--nearly two full years ago. He's been battling the after-effects of that head injury since then, and seemed to be turning a corner this year when he attended the Senators' development camp and was expected to play in the upcoming rookie camp. It seems like that's been set aside, at least for the time being. Maidens, who was ranked 18 in our current Top 25 Under 25 series, remains a good prospect for the organization.
As with any post-concussion injury, there is no timetable for Maidens' recovery. He may still be able to play this season with the Attack, or he may be sidelined for the remainder of the season. Hopefully it's the former.
