The Ottawa Senators have announced the signing of 26 year old forward Erik Condra.

Condra's contract is worth $2.5 million and he'll count $1.25 million each year against Ottawa's salary cap. Condra had filed for player-elected salary arbitration before Wednesday's deadline. The sides settled on this contract before a hearing was necessary.

Condra played all 48 games last year for the Senators, providing some consistency during an injury-plagued season. He had four goals and eight assists. Condra has shown weaknesses to fans on if he is a top 8 forward and if the 26 year old is worth a re-sign this year.

I certainly believe he is worth the 2.5 Million over a 2 year period considering his strengths in special teams, in his case penalty kill. Condra was used on the top penalty kill line and led the Senators in blocked shots. What do you believe the reason the Senators re-signed forward Erik Condra was?
