Man, what a series this has been. The Senators winning on the scoreboard, winning in the alley and gutting out wins, when for large portions of the games they look like they're being outplayed. The media focus seems to largely be on the mind games of Paulrus, the physical domination of Montreal and Pageauuu PageauPageau Pageauuuuuu!. But everyone take a good look at our crease, because I think you take all of the above out of the equation, and we're still in the series thanks to Mr. Anderson. Game #1 was one of the best playoff goaltending performances in Senators history (Only Lalime's back to back to back shutouts in 01-02 strike me as better). Despite being outplayed, it took two perfect shots to beat him last night. And take out a softy in the 6-1 drubbing, and he's this close to a shutout in that game. If SilverSeven does a heroes and zeros piece for the whole series, sure there are a whole lot of heroes, but Anderson is #1!
As a side, note, last nights game was the first Senators game at Scotiabank place I've attended in years (I've been to numerous road games though, mainly at the ACC) The fans have really stepped up their game. Never seen so much team spirit on display! Unbelievable!
GO SENS GO!!
