Game Recap and Up and Down Year End Total

That's it. The end of the regular season and it's playoff time!

However, before we continue I wanted to recap all of the recaps.

To much of our enjoyment, the writers here treat us to Recaps of every game as well as a weekly Up and Down. I've collected the data on those posts and I would like to share them.

First, we'll start with Ups and Downs. Below is the data::

If you could not tell, the players are sorted from highest up and down +/- to lowest. What I thought was most interesting is that I think the overal +/- is generally how I felt how each player performed on the year compared to their expectations and role. For example, Methot certainly didn't lead the team in scoring, but he certainly out performed most of everyone's expectation and executed exactly what he is supposed to do on the ice. What do you think?

Next, we'll look at the data for the Game Recaps throughout the year. Please note, that when collecting the data, I gave marks for individual recognition when I thought appropriate. For example, if a 'zero' was given out to the 'Calder' line, I was able to give it to the three players accordingly. However, if a 'zero' was given the powerplay, I didn't give a zero to every player that played on the powerplay that night. Additionally, 'Positive Points' are calculated by giving two points for every hero and one point for every honorable mention. Negative points are calculated the same way respectively. Here is the data:

Total Honourable Mention

Positive Points

Total Zero

Total Dishonourable Mention

The players are sorted by games played. Craig Anderson and the young swedes are some of the highlights. Karlsson especially has a high point +/- total for only playing 17 games.

Here comes my favorite part; the data on the writers themselves! Please see below:

Does anyone see some obvious favoritism? Of course, this data cant attributed to the outcome of the covered games themselves and not the writer, but still very interesting nonetheless.

Please provide your comments. What do you all think of the data? Is it what you expected? Also, this is my first post, so please provided some feedback!
