It is time to dream and hope people... its coming.
The article does state the obvious (Anaheim/Pittsburgh/Chicago have all but locked up a spot already). But gives a very simple outline for the records needed to make the playoffs.
Based on the projected numbers as of today, Ottawa's chances of making the playoffs after the final 15 games are pretty damm good. The magic number of 10 points over the last fifteen games is required. A record of 5-10 (or 10 straight OT/Shootout loses) will get us in, meaning 1 win in 3. Our schedule is by no means full of worldbeaters. With the exception of two games in Boston and an evening with Pittsburgh very late in the year, our schedule has us playing teams below us in the standings, 8 of which are games against non-playoff teams. A game in Buffalo, and a Florida road trip constitute half of our remaining road games of the season.
And whom are we getting at or around the deadline? Oh that's right, a number 1 center, a top line winger and goalie with proven clutch playoff experience....and that's just off IR. Brian could surprise us with a trade out of nowhere.
It is time to start talking about the playoff ladies and gentleman...it is time.
P.S: Adnan this has nothing to do with your contest, but could I get the free ticket for a friend :P
