I am a jersey hound.
I love hockey jerseys. They are the one collectible item that I still collect to this day. As of right now, I have every jersey in Ottawa's "kit" among many, many more.
I love the heritage jersey (black). It's probably one of, if not the best jersey the Senators have had in a long time. When word came out that Ottawa would be wearing a "white" version of it for the Heritage Classic I was pretty excited. Maybe, just maybe, we'll finally have two really nice looking jerseys that get implemented as our home and away (wishful thinking).
Just like every thing you love, there is the "but" factor.
I love the jerseys....but....I really don't like the vintage white.
Don't the jerseys up there look better than this? If the jersey is indeed vintage white, that's what we're going to end up with.
Icethetics posted some updates on the jersey breaking down a teaser video in which Spezza and Karlsson talk about the jersey. The word "old" pops out to me. (You can check out the post here)
A point to note:
In the third picture of the old Senators, you'll see a sweater with SENATORS written in script across the front (Very similar to these jerseys).
Some believe that the jersey could have that very script across the front as well, with the reversed color scheme of the current alternate jersey.
Another concept that intrigues me is this one. At first glance it seems to be a middle ground between heavy vintage white and white. On the other hand, part of me would love for the organization to surprise everyone and their mothers and use these. If only!
So the question I ask you wonderful people, is with the imminent release of the new Heritage Classic Jersey, how many of you are planning on getting it? Which concepts do you like most? Which don't you like? What are your thoughts about white vs vintage white?
Have at it!
