Yesterday was officially the last day to qualify RFA's (Restricted Free Agents) and like every year, teams didn't qualify all of their RFA's. A few interesting names came up. One of them really came out in my opinion: Peter Mueller
Peter Mueller #88
Colorado Avalanche Center
| NUMBER: | 88 | BIRTHDATE: | April 14, 1988 (AGE 24) |
| HEIGHT: | 6' 2" | BIRTHPLACE: | Bloomington, MN, United States |
| WEIGHT: | 204 | DRAFTED: | PHX / 2006 NHL Entry Draft |
| SHOOTS: | Right | ROUND: | 1st (8th overall) |
As you can see, he has everything a top-6 forward needs and more. He still has potential and has proven his talent time and time again. On a side note, he's had his fair share of injury problems. However, these seem to just be unfortunate and accidental.
Brian Murray always talks about needing a top-6 forward, well here's his opportunity. Colorado decided NOT to qualify him which makes him scheduled to be on the open market on july 1. He's had impressive seasons in the past and can probably still produce if he was put in the right situation.
I think he could be had for relatively cheap, he has no locker room problems, he has potential and he has proven talent at the NHl level.
